Valve’s doubling down on the PlayStation 3. In a preview published late Thursday, Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo reported that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the newest iteration of the popular Counter-Strike franchise, will feature cross-platform play between PS3 and PC/Mac players.

Though players can create endless loops of de_dust on their own private servers, Valve will be running official servers for skill-based matchmaking. PC, Mac, and PS3 users will be matched up regardless of platform. Xbox 360 players will be confined to matches with other 360 owners. How Valve will balance play between users on keyboard and mouse versus players using a gamepad or PlayStation Move (which the PS3 version will support) remains to be seen.

Despite CEO Gabe Newell’s previous dismissal of the PS3, Valve is showing strong support for Sony’s platform, citing the openness of its publication model with respect to Microsoft’s. Portal 2, released this April, allowed for cross-platform play between PS3 and PC/Mac, and the PS3 version came with a code for Portal 2 on Steam.

Counter-Strike: GO, announced two weeks ago, looks to be a marriage of beloved shooting tradition with the newest Source engine tech. Those attending PAX this weekend can see what Kotaku saw for themselves, and Counter-Strike veterans looking for in-depth coverage would do well to read Craig Torbull’s comparision of CS: GO  to its predecessors over at ESEA News.

Think about it... PC version will likely allow for higher resolution than PS3.
It will probably allow for multiple display support which in turn gives a PC user more viewable range to see their opponent. Than you add in video card eye candy effects like AF and AA which will make distant opponents much easier to target.... If anything, this just might bulster PC sales because PS3 players will get tired of getting owned.

LoL Paint ball is a Trilion time more realistic than Any Fps but you have to have Friends and be able to process more sensory impututs than 2d tv/screen emulating 3d enviromenr.
    Just saying.

PC - has got the best Graphics and controls.
But who played Uncharted or Infamous on the PS3?
You probably never even heard of them cause they are not on Steem.
Ignoring the "Fact" that you CAN NOT REPLICATE the atmosphere of cayrtain games on to a another platform goes both ways. Uncharted is the best story driven casual game EVER. iNFAMOUS is the dark mindfuck. Just saying.

    Now back to CS: GO
We all know that we don't play CS:S because it looks good and
And Crysis just because it looks good. (Or is it BF3 you senndyng the cash to AMD to:)
    Just kidding.
But I'm pretty sure that the PS3 can handle Dust 2 or Aztek in full with 24 players EASY.
IT'S GOING TO BE LIKE A 3 YEARS OLD PC WITH MOUSE AND A/W/S/W Keys

I DO HAVE MONEY DOR A NEW PC BUT I RATHER SPEND IT ON BOOZ AND PUSSY.

Counter strike has been my favorite video game since childhood and I have never seen a game better. Recently, I learned how to make money with it using https://csgobettings.com/csgoempire/ where I use various top betting platforms and thus make good money, which I also wish for you, as this is the easiest way to become financially independent .
